TPJ Systems Healthcare Consulting and Healthcare Interface Design

Interface Monitor

Heartbeat is an interface monitor designed to work with your existing server applications. Heartbeat check and rechecks the server and will notify you when changes in the connections occur. Heartbeat is totally customizable, meaning you can determine response times, type of alert notifications, and set the protocols for when discrepancies do occur. TPJ offers training of the Heartbeat Systems Monitor so you can trouble shoot and fix minor issues as they arise, cutting support calls, and costs dramatically.

TPJ Heartbeat Details and Specs

TPJ HEARTBEAT validates that a given network application is alive and operating properly. If you have ever heard "The system has a mind of its own today" or "I don't know it worked fine last night" from your technical staff, you need TPJ Heartbeat. If you haven't heard these famous quotes sooner or later you will. Heartbeat monitors your Interface Server/System and Network for errors.

For example: Cloverleaf In TPJ HEARTBEAT can handle up to six network connections with a single instance.

Heartbeat's design concept is based on the knowledge that an outage of an application often means that the application is unable to communicate to the support organization that something has gone awry. Quite often many applications are built with internal Alerts to notify someone on support that a problem is occurring. However, when the application is hung or suspended, an alert simply cannot be generated or sent to someone who can correct the problem. The TPJ HEARTBEAT design is built on the premise that a second computer watching your critical application is needed. It does not need to be a complex system to be critical to your environment. But quite often the application is at the heart of your installation. HEARTBEAT is designed to operate from a separate computer. Where the HEARTBEAT will pass messages to your critical application and expect the message to be returned exactly as sent. Each message contains a unique identification that is validated when returned.

The TPJ HEARTBEAT is designed to accept a series of parameters that will allow you to define your connection and your e-mail criteria. Each TCP/IP address supports the following:

Remote host address, either a TCP/IP address or a name

Remote port address

Firewall data

Firewall Host

Firewall Password

Firewall Type

Firewall User

Keep Alive indicator

Linger value

Time-out value

Polling time delay

The parameters support unique e-mail addresses and provides for you own SMTP outbound address
